The Rome Braves home opener is on Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 7 p.m. The home team will be playing the Hudson Valley Renegades (Yankees High-A). 

Berry softball team flattens competition 

Berry’s softball team swept Centre College last weekend with a 42-2 overall record for all three games. With eight new freshmen and two transfer players, Berry’s team is one of the youngest teams in the conference.

Suicide prevention project director resigns

Morgan Green, former suicide prevention project director for Berry’s Counseling Center, resigned recently, leaving the post vacant. As a result, the title has been given to other counselors at the Counseling Center, limiting the ability of the Center to serve students.

U.S. Senate to confirm Supreme Court Justice nominee

Currently, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is widely expected to be confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court as the court’s 116th justice. This vote is historic as Jackson would be the first Black woman on the Supreme Court. The full Senate vote will occur later this week.

In the weeks following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the western world has placed some of the most restrictive sanctions in history on the invading country. Sanctions are penalties imposed on countries who do not abide by international law.
