The beginning of your college career is here. You’ve moved in and the first day of classes is approaching.

But you don’t know what to do now. You’re wondering how you will spend your free time outside of class or work. You’re anxious and worried about meeting some new friends. Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

What is there to do on campus or in Rome? Where are the best places to take a date around this area? What is Mountain Day like and what should I expect during my first one? Where should I go hiking?

We have the solution. Read and view our student media. Or better yet, become a staff member at one of our award-winning student media organizations. We have four outlets awaiting your arrival as consumer or staff member.

Campus Carrier is a weekly newspaper averaging 12 pages per issue. Look for the Carrier on the racks around campus every Thursday afternoon. The Carrier also publishes an email edition each Friday so make sure you subscribe to this product if you don’t read the physical newspaper.

Ramifications is our 32-page literary magazine and is published once toward the end of each semester. You can see our magazine and more on our website as well. The magazine also sponsors an “open-mic” poetry reading once each semester.

Valkyrie is our 80-page lifestyle and culture magazine produced by students. The magazine is published two times each academic year. Valkyrie has social media and website content as well.

Viking Fusion is a student-run multimedia outlet that seeks to inform and entertain both the Berry student community and the larger public. Multimedia content on the website is exclusively authored and produced by Berry College students.

Campus Carrier and Viking Fusion collaborate on news coverage weekly.

And best yet — all student media is FREE!

Student media is created for you — the students. If you don’t like what you see, let us know. We’ll likely try to put you to work at one of our media since we appreciate and seek diverse viewpoints. All our media outlets are student managed and produced.

If you like to write, take photos, create videos and podcasts, act in dramatic television productions and short films or use computers for graphic design then we have the place for you to get involved.

If you are interested in working for the lifestyle and culture magazine, literary magazine, newspaper or multimedia outlet please come to our first staff meeting. We expect no prior experience and will train you. Students of all majors are welcome and desired.
