The ASC lends a helping hand

Kinsey Farmer, Associate Director for Academic Transitions

Welcome to Berry College!

Dear Vikings,

Welcome to Berry College! We are so excited to have you as part of our community, and we can’t wait to see everything you’ll accomplish during your time here. You are now part of a tradition of excellence, curiosity, and care, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

As you begin this exciting new chapter, we want to introduce you to one of the endless resources on campus: the Academic Success Center (ASC). Located on the first floor of the Memorial Library, the ASC, open Sunday-Thursday from 5-10p.m. is a welcoming space where you can find support to help you thrive in your classes and beyond. Whether you’re looking for peer-to-peer help with your courses, academic consultations or simply some guidance on how to manage your time and workload, the ASC is here for you. You’ll find trained peers and staff who genuinely care about your growth.

Starting college can feel overwhelming at times and that’s okay. One of the most important things you can do for your academic journey is to ask for help early and often. Seeking support is a sign of strength, not struggle. Whether you have questions about an assignment, need help preparing for an exam or just want someone to talk through your academic goals with, don’t hesitate to reach out. Your professors, advisors, and campus staff are all here to help you succeed.

If you’re thinking about building a strong campus career, whether through leadership roles, internships or student employment start by getting connected and staying curious. Go to class, use your resources, and take advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. The relationships you build with faculty, staff and classmates will open doors throughout your time at Berry and long after you graduate.

We’re so glad you’re here. Welcome to Berry College and welcome to the start of something amazing.
