Berry College basketball fans were on the edge of their seats last Friday, as the Men and Women’s teams faced off against Birmingham-Southern College in the Cage Athletic Center. The women’s team tackled a back-and-forth game with the Panthers, eventually going into overtime and scoring an additional 12 points, defeating the Panthers 76-72. Sophomores Elly Callihan and Lauren Ellard and junior Sylvia Kahoro accounted for all 12 overtime points. The men’s team was determined to maintain their four-game win streak, but after a rough start, fans started to get worried. It didn’t take long for the men to pick up speed, however, winning the game 74-63. Berry College Office of Student Involvement also held a Pack the House event, handing out food and t-shirts, as well as hosting a raffle for students to win tickets to an Atlanta Hawks game.
