Tammi Freeman, mail services manager
Welcome to Berry College! You should have received your Berry post office (P.O.) box number during Student Orientation, Advising and Registration. The U.S. Postal Service recommends that Berry College residents use a six-digit P.O. box address beginning with the prefix 49 and followed by your P.O. box number. You can find your P.O. box number on Viking Web by selecting “My Profile and Settings”, selecting “Contact Information”, selecting “Addresses” and then selecting “Staff Campus Address”.
You will receive an email from Mail Services letting you know that you have mail. Pick up your mail at the Mail Services customer service counter using your Berry ID. Customer service window hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Students will receive an email from Mail Services when they receive a package delivered to the Berry College Post Office. Student packages will either be placed in a self-serve parcel locker or available for pick-up at the Mail Services customer service counter, both of which are in the Krannert. The email will provide pick-up instructions. Berry student IDs are required when picking up packages at the counter. Students may not pick up packages for another student.
Parcel lockers are in Krannert adjacent to the post office. The locker hallway is open 24 hours. The customer service counter is only open during normal business operating hours as posted online and at the windows.
Each locker bank has a self-service kiosk. The email notification will contain a locker location (Krannert1 or Krannert2) and a one-time use access code. Parcels placed in lockers may be collected using the access code from the email or a Berry Student ID card scan.
If students have multiple packages assigned to lockers, they will receive a separate email for each package. If the packages are in the same locker, the access code will be the same. If the packages are assigned to different lockers, there will be a different access code for each package.
Packages will remain in lockers for 24 hours and the student will be notified that the time in the locker is about to expire. These packages will be removed from lockers on the next business morning and students will receive an email instructing them to pick that package up at the customer service counter using their Berry ID.
Large items, perishable items, and prescription medications will not be placed in lockers. These items will be available for pick-up at the customer service counter during regular post office hours.
Amazon Parcel Lockers are in Krannert Center in the foyer across from the Post Office next to the ATM. This area is accessible 24 hours. These lockers are serviced, and deliveries are made directly by Amazon or a private courier. Important: The name of the Amazon Lockers is “AVELLINO”.
To place an order for delivery in the Amazon Lockers, place an eligible item in your shopping cart and proceed to check out. When choosing a delivery address, select “Search for a Pickup Point location near you.” Search by zip code (30149) or address (2277 Martha Berry Highway NW) Select “Ship to this address” beside your chosen location “AVELLINO.” After that, simply complete your order.
When your package is ready for you to collect from a locker, you will receive an email from Amazon. The email will contain the information you need to collect your package.
Once the locker is selected during checkout, under the “Review items and shipping” step, you will be informed that items can stay in lockers for up to three days. After the third day your item will be sent back to the Amazon Fulfillment Center, and you will be refunded the cost of the item.
The return locker is available until the close of business on the next business day. Amazon cannot guarantee a locker after that time, but you can still go to the locker and see if there is space for your return. You can do this for up to 30 days after your return reservation.
If no lockers are available after your reservation expires, you can cancel your return request and create a new return request for the drop-off. Or you can pay for the return postage and send the package to the address on the return label. (Go to Amazon. com and see “Cancel a return” and “Return Items you ordered”for more information.) Securely package and label your return. Your package should be smaller than 18 x 14 x 12 inches to fit in the locker.
Amazon.com is not responsible for any items unrelated to the return left in the locker.
Students may purchase stamps or mail packages at the campus post office. Priority shipping boxes are available at no charge. Stamp and postage must be paid for with cash or check. Students may also ship USPS, UPS and FedEx packages that bear prepaid labels.
Please contact Mail Services in advance if you are expecting packages containing such items as prescriptions medications or other items which might require special handling or refrigeration.
Students will receive a link to complete a temporary mail forward request prior to the Christmas and summer breaks. If the form is not submitted, mail and packages will remain at Berry for the student to pick up upon return to campus.
We cannot accept local deliveries from vendors such as Walmart, florists, grocery stores or food delivery services. Students must accept these deliveries directly from the courier. Questions? Contact us at 706-236-2201, tfreeman@berry.edu or jallison@berry.edu.
