Volleyball looks forward to the unexpected this year

The Berry College women’s volleyball team is staring their season in light of a previous victory. They won conference at the Southern Athletic Association Tournament (SAA) and had a first-round win in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament (NCAA). This marks this as their tenth overall wins in the SAA and their fourth time in a row winning as well. The coaches and team are excited for this coming season and what it holds for them. Berry Bucks aim to win nationals in sixth straight qualification

The Berry Bucks ultimate frisbee team (Berry Bucks) have once again qualified for nationals. The Bucks consistently compete for the national championship each year, having qualified for the last six years. In 2024, the Bucks placed 13th at nationals while finishing ninth in 2023, tied for third in 2022 and sixth in 2021. Coming into nationals this year, the Bucks are ranked 21st in division III. Spring sports aim to continue conference success

It’s been another successful year in Mount Berry for Vikings athletics. The fall season saw Berry take four SAA conference championships out of the six sports that were contested. Winter sports continued to add to the success with volleyball and men’s basketball each adding a conference crown. Thus far, the spring has yielded only a runner-up finish from the women’s indoor track and field team, but six teams will be in competition this weekend looking to increase Berry’s total. Emperors providing jobs to current and former Vikings

April has come, which means the Rome Emperors have started playing baseball. The Emperors are home to many Berry students who attend home games during the season and also work for the Emperors over the course of the year. Students who aspire to work in sports after college have regularly worked for the Emperors in one way or another. SAA welcomes two schools, bids farewell to Hendrix

This fall, Berry will begin to feel the effects of the conference realignment trend that has been sweeping collegiate athletics for the past four years. With Birmingham-Southern College (BSC) shutting down after the 2023-24 academic year, the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) saw its membership drop from eight to seven. In the next two years, the SAA will see that number dip to six before rising to eight, then increasing to nine before the fall of 2026.
